Preliminary Survey Results

Post by Jason R » Dec 4th 2002, 1:56 pm

In a few days I will post updated figures as well as public comments. (I included a public comments question).

cancellation refund survey:
http://www.drygrass.com/documents/cancellations.pdf

overcharge refund survey:
http://www.drygrass.com/documents/overcharges.pdf

I will leave the comments to the members of this site. The preliminary results are even worse than I imagined.

Wow, those numbers are frightening Jason. AU has clearly reset priorities in terms of processing refunds (waiting for the success of their Twilight Zone set I'd imagine... foolish hope).

I'd like to stress that if you have not received your refund, by all means get in touch with your credit card company, but please contact the law enforcement agencies as well.

Contacting the IFCC, FBI and Attorney General will not only ensure that this practice will not add to your chances of getting a refund, but ensure that the business practices that brought everyone here will not be repeated by AU.

Take care,
Gary

updated figures. if the link does not work yet it is because I am still waiting for a massive file to be FTPed.

cancellation refund survey:

overcharge refund survey:

As you can see, the percentages are remarkably consistent as the number of responses grows. This does not mean that there is no skewness, but rather that the skewness, if any, is consistent.

I plan on sending some random surveys in the very near future. By comparing those to the surveys sent to everybody we can see if the results are skewed.

Since replying to the survey this morning, my bank has issued a temporary credit for the chargeback. No word from AU, and no attempt by them to process my refund.

Like so-called customer, I just got my refund back via my credit card company! Im so excited I could scream. I am finally done with MSCL and will probably never order the dvds. I filled out the survey and said I hadnt gotten my refund either, but I guess the numbers still wont change much. I also had them cancel my card so anotheruniverse.com can never touch me again.

This just illustrates the need to aggressively pursue any money owed to you via your bank. Now. Assume AU will never even think about perhaps processing your refund ever.

Here are the results this morning with between 50-60% responding:

cancellation refund survey:

overcharge refund survey:
http://www.drygrass.com/documents/overcharges3.pdf

Either AU just REALLY, REALLY sucks, are totally broke, or they are intentionally not giving refunds to customers.

Jason, I think by all accounts of the cash flow and whatever the rabble on RagingBull thinks AU simply doesn't have any money right now. So they are deliberately not refunding people because there is no money to refund. RR and company are hoping that people will go away and just write off the $100-200 they've paid. My hope is that all these complaints we've filed will make someone take note and stop Ross from doing this all over again with the Twilight Zone set that AU is attempting to sell now.

I agree. Clearly AU are just not doing it. I doubt many more people are going to see their money without legal action. I would therefore strongly encourage everyone to go to the authorities.

If AU are that badly off I wonder if I will ever see my refund.

I am getting a bit worried about the IFCC though. I logged a complaint 6 weeks ago and haven't heard anything.

but since cancelling in early october
other than the drygrass autoresponse
I have had no contact from AU whatsoever
and no refund.

I also failed to get the survey.

I was overcharged in August and despite getting the autoresponse things to say that my request had both been viewed and dealt with I have recieved no refund.

I surprise, surprise get no response when I email them either.

I have received the disks though.
