Questions from a worried fan

My apologies, I looked through the posts and couldn't find the answer to my questions.

I sent in a money order many months (at least 6) ago with a down payment and never got any kind of response. I repeatedly emailed but nothing so I pretty much gave up on getting the dvd or money back. All of a sudden today I get an email saying UPS has my order on the way! I'm quite worried as I'm not currently budgeted for this expense as xmas is near. Am I to pay the rest of the money I owe to the UPS guy when he shows up? Can I refuse to sign for the order (therefore cancelling it)? Thanks very much.

If they don't send it with the balance COD, I'd just take the set and let AU worry about collecting for it. You can always refuse it, but then for sure you are unlikely to see your down payment back.

You can also call UPS with your tracking number and ask them if there is a COD charge on it and if so what the amount is. I had to call UPS about an address change and she told me right then what my COD charge was (for CDN taxes). So they should definitely be able to tell you if you have to pay a balance. Also, you can refuse to accept the order, but like so-called customer, I would be concerned that you might not see your refund again. Is it the $20 deposit? To be honest, you might be lucky if that's all you get screwed out of. I wish that I had done it your way, with a money order, that is.

Indeed, contact UPS if you have any questions. Have the email that said that UPS had shipped the order ready. You should be able to find out any expected charges then.

Thanks very much. I think I will cut my losses ($20 US down payment) and refuse. I'm a uni student now so money is very tight. By my own fault I should have officially cancelled I guess but considering they never responded to anything I sent I doubted it would have got through.
