I ask this out of sheer curiosity...

I got my set today (

) and I'm thrilled. Because I was going to be out of the house for most of the weekend, I immediately watched the pilot to check it out.
Nice! I'm a happy guy!
Quick question; Does anybody else find it curious that the discs are labeled with the CD logo, and not the DVD logo, as seen on the cases? Thought that was kinda odd.
Is this a goof from the art department or just a technicality?
Like I said - I'm just curious, and NOT complaining. My apologies if this has come up before.
Regards,
Gary

I found it a little odd too. At a minimum, the majority of DVD's do have the "DVD VIDEO" logo and the region code. I think it's an indication of how this whole project turned into a rush job at the end.

Ha... that is funny... also text on the disc refers to 'compilation' which is a term one one thinks of with box sets or music cd's with various artists.
I also noticed that the UPC/ID for the first disc is out of sequence relative to the others. Maybe that has somthing to do with the fact that the first 3 episodes had already been released on DVD. You would think that for this new realease, they'd just issue a new UPC for the first disc.
Vol 1: UPC - 7 55174 57149 7
Vol 2: UPC - 7 55174 75129 5
Vol 3: UPC - 7 55174 75139 4
Vol 4: UPC - 7 55174 75149 3
Vol 5: UPC - 7 55174 75159 2
Vol 1: ID - 75517457149R1
Vol 2: ID - 75517475129
etc.

That's sounds like the most plausible idea to me. Mayber you play your discs on your car stereo ("MSCL To Go").
pgh kenny,
LOL! I never even noticed the word "compilation". That's hysterical.
As for the ID's; Is the UPC on the first disc the same code they gave it previously? If so, I'll bet they kept the original UPC on the first disc in case they ever decide to break the set up to move remainder stock. It would already be in the system.

I am watching that original release DVD today in preparation for receipt of my Ep4-19 set, which is
now at the UPS dock in my city, to be delivered
Monday...<big grin>...
The UPC is indeed the same...
Copyright text on the case also refers to 'THIS COMPILATION'...

I wonder if the menus are different for old versus new ep 1-3?

Yippee!! My Ep4-19 set
finally arrived, courtesy of the guy in brown clothing.
Re the menus: the overall look, font, and backgrounds are similar. The transition between menu screens is slightly different, more 'pixilated' in the new set. The 'DVD Credits' roll is against a black screen on the early version, the new set has a colored background. The original 'Disc 1' has a 'Previews' section for the un-released 'Disc 2' and 'Disc 3' with only 3 episodes per disc.
The case art of the original Disc 1 blends in well, with the exception that it doesn't say 'Vol.1' on the spine.
Excuse me while I go fix lunch and watch 'em...
