Jason,

I just got your newest survey email and want to respond but I can't get the link within the email to work. It comes up as page not found...

:(

I'll give it another try in a bit, but was wondering if others have had the same problem.

try cutting and pasting the text link provided after the clickable link. the clickable link did not work for me, but the text link did work.

i just tried the clickable link again - it now works. the first time i clicked it, i was taken to the main page of advancedsurvey.com. this could be a problem with my hotmail... the way links are handled in a frame by hotmail sometimes messes things up.

So I tried the link again and now it's working.

Strange, very strange...

But I've done it and my day is almost over.

Thanks guys!

:D

Egads. This is looking sooo much worse than I realized:

1. Have you received a refund for your cancellation? (As of 11/14/2002) (81 respondents so far. Emailed to 387 people).

Yes 1.23%
No 86.42%
I don't know 6.17%
I uncancelled my order 6.17%

Imagine taking an exam at school and getting a 1.23%!

How could someone not know if they received a refund? I check every day!

One of the cardinal rules of surveys is "there has to be an 'i don't know' option." :D

Jason,

Has there been a survey recently regarding overcharges and the refunds to those? Luckily I got my overcharge refund (not my cancellation one though), but I was just curious how many more people have yet to receive that refund.

Some people don't check so obsessively, a lot of people realize it is futile.

I am not waiting on a refund, but i am waiting on my second double charge to be fixed. But i've giving up on consistently calling my bank to see if it happened. A - i dont want to be the annoying guy always calling my bank. and B - AU isnt going to be doing jack s**t till at the very least after they ship all the sets (read as never).

Well lucky for me I can check online so I dont have to bother my bank! I only check so much because I gave AU.com till Friday before I start filing a suit in small claims.

last one was a few weeks ago. about 11% received refunds. how did you do it? did you challenge through your card or threaten legal action?

My overcharge refund I got by annoying them to death. I was overcharged back in July and after I realized being nice and waiting for my refund wasnt an option I started calling 3 times a week (this was back when they actually answered the phones). After about 2 weeks of me calling 3 times a week I finally got it.

The funny part is I actually sought legal advice and did what they said but that doesnt seem to convice AU to give me my cancellation refund back, so I guess maybe I will be actually following thru with a suit. I also went thru my cc company but have yet to hear from them.

Also on that new survey how am I suppose to vent properly with a 1,000 character limit!

*edited to correct bad grammar ( I can't believe I actually said 'seeked', I blame it on not getting enough sleep)

you didn't ask me, but I got a refund (for the double charge) as well. Living in Europe "legal action" would be even harder than in the US

after Ross's posting that everyone with a double charge should e-mail him (so he can take care), I did so (October 5). He replied, but there was no refund (surprise). I e-mailed him again. And again. Getting angrier every time. He didn't not reply anymore

So I tried another way: I called AU every day (thanks God for the redial-button; it helps to get through). A few days later Wade already knew my voice (it was even nice to talk to him). Suddenly, on October 23, the guy (wasn't Wade this time) put me on hold, went to the accounting department and I was credited back. I guess that the list of my complaints was getting very long and that the threats that a) my credit card company would investigate, b) I would file complaints everywhere
worked

edit: as cool rider put it, "annoying them to death"

certainly - as an international customer - I didn't get the DVDs yet.

albeit I got my money back, I filed complaints with the BBB and the IFCC. I'll also fill out this: http://www.caag.state.ca.us/consumers/mailform.htm (as soon as I have the DVDs in my hands...)
