Did anybody dispute the double charge with their bank?

When the double charge of 79.99 showed up on my account (and I used a debit card, which comes out of my account) I noticed it immedately. I work at a bank full time, so I saw it memo posted before it came on my account and knew what it was. So I was prepared, and filled out the dispute charge form about a week later when the promised refund never came back from AnotherUniverse. And my bank took it off my account, and I guess sent the charge back to AU, but I am not clear on that process.

Did anybody else dispute the charge on their card with their bank/credit card company? I am curious, because I am wondering if AU will some day get around to my refund (and I think the double charge showed up in August) and put the 79.99 back on my account and in essence I will get the MSCL set for 20.00. I doubt it would happen, but I was reluctant to have to call them and ask them about the status of my refund, as I really, really don't want to deal with them on the phone regarding anything of mine that can be charged again. I can see it now: AU-"Oh, you sent that charge back through your bank? Well, we'll just charge you AGAIN and refund you six months later, how does that sound?" So if you did send the charge back through your bank, did that work out ok for you?

When I saw the extra $115 on my monthly Cr. card statement, I immediately phoned Citibank and verbally filled out a dispute form with them over the phone. They said to deduct the $115 from the amount I was going to pay on that cr. card statement and they would take it up with AU. That was in Aug. I think and (fingers crossed) I haven't heard another thing about the charge. AU did try and say I cancelled my original order which I did pay back in Feb. for $100 and they weren't going to send me my boxset but I called AU and talked with Wade and he sorted it out and the box arrived on MON. :D So; I guess Citibank hammered them for me.

Yes, I had a similar experience. My debit card was charged $115 twice, once in July and once again in August. I emailed Ross and au personnel, gave them about a week. Of course no reply. So I freaked and called my dad, who works at my credit union. He said he'd take care of it and called me back about ten minutes later, telling me that the credit union had given me two "provisional credits" for the two times I was charged $115. So. All the money AU had taken from me I had back in my account. My dad told me that the credit union gave me my money back, and VISA gave the credit union their money back, so now VISA is going after AU. Thanks Dad! I called AU to let them know I contacted my credit union and Wade told me they cancelled my order because of it. At that time, they were still the only retailer, so I had them uncancel. But last month I had enough and cancelled for good.
