so i read in another post that...when amazon says that the set is going to be released on the 19th that we'll get it on the 19th or shortly after...
should i risk not paying 6 dollars more and getting the set shipped 2 day shipping to see if i get it on the 19th? if i dont get the 2 day shipping...and it ships 5-9 on the 19th...i might not get the set until after i get back from thanksgiving break.
but if the set ships before the 19th...on teh 14th or something...then i really dont' need the 2 day shipping...
what should i do?

Can't you just ship it home to you're parents house...or wherever you're going to be???

If you're just going home for a few days over Thanksgiving, then why don't you just ship it to your school address? After months (and years) of waiting for this set, a few more days won't kill you!
That sounds like a better option than having it possibly arrive at your parents' house after you go back to school and then letting it sit there until you go home for winter break.

I think you're best bet then would just be to ship it to yourself for free and then just know it will be waiting for you when you get back if it doesn't happen to come early....that's what I would do
But if you want to throw down the extra $$ for 2 day shipping go for it, but that doesn't guarntee you will get it early (before the 19th) because technically they're not obligated to ship until the 19th.....

...and may not even ship it then depending on when they get stock and how many people are in the queue ahead of you. I'd save the cash, enjoy Thanksgiving and know the set will be waiting for you when you get home.

Amazon always ships things to me on the Sunday before the release date. I usually get 2 day shipping so it often shows up right on the Tuesday but sometimes on Wednesday.
The free shipping they offer kind of sucks. It seems to take forever, though I'm probably just an impatient person.
Besides that I don't trust USPS to deliver packages to me anymore. They lost something that had to be re-routed because their machines read the Zip Code wrong or something. It took me 4 weeks to get something that was supposed to come Priority.
The second problem was with something from Amazon where I was supposed to get it in 7 days, It's been almost 4 weeks and it hasn't shown up. I did contact Amazon after the 7 days, they asked me to wait for 10 days to pass, when it didn't show then they sent me the thing again at no charge and gave me 2 day shipping for it.
Not that this kind of stuff will always happen, that's just why I try to get quicker shipping and I prefer being able to track my packages also and USPS doesn't have that option all the time.

yeah i think i just want the set as soon as possible...plus i want to watch it with my boyfriend...he's never seen it...and we have a long distance relationship and he's visiting for thanksgiving...haha so that's a factor in it...yeah i know i'm a dork.
if i pay the extra 6...pretty much i'm just losing the 5 dollars off that i had before...so instead of paying 55 i pay like 61...still 6 dollars off what i would have paid...
yeah it's not that i dont' trust usps...but i don't trust my COLLEGE MAIL ROOM...they messed up a package of mine during the summer...they kept claiming that someone had signed for me and picked up my package and that they didn't have it...and then finally they found it...sitting where all the rest of the packages were
