Just wanted to say there is hope for you guys that have not received refunds.
I was one of the people double charged....was charged $115 after paying $89.98 back in March. That took me 2 months to get it off credited back to my account. I bitched, emailed, and called quite a bit.
But...
Recently I cancelled my order on October 7th, and received my refund of $89.98 within 4 days. Checked my online CC statement this morning. Only took 2 emails to Ross.
So I hope the rest of you get your money back....im so glad that I dont have to deal with this company anymore!

Thanks for letting us know that you received a refund. And within 4 days too!

I will cross my fingers, hope, and pray that the rest of us are as lucky as you.

And....b r e a t h e
I received my refund this morning too. I mailed Ross, got a 'you will be credited soon' email within 24 hours. Then the refund came 7 days later (I did remind him at least once in-between though!).
The only down side being that because I ordered from the UK and because exchange rates have moved, I lost a fiver...but hey, I've saved about £50000000 ordering from amazon anyway

and I'm out from under the spell of AU - who I was having nightmare scenario dreams of going bust and taking my money down with them...er, sorry to those still waiting
I thought you might like some good news on refunds for a change

Yay!
That's good to hear, Zedhead... I can only hope mine comes through soon. I requested it yesterday so if I allow a week and then get really ratty over the phone (and I can be SOOOO annoying) then I should see my money again.
Thanks for giving me hope

Well my CC company told me after you recieve confirmation they have 30 days to refund you...so you ought to mail ross and mention that and tell him to get his arse in gear. I'm just so relieved that mine came through relatively swiftly.

This morning my refund showed up in my internet statement. All of it: balance and deposit. No interest, but I'll cut my losses on the $8.48 and move on.

When did you first notifiy AU that you wanna cancel your order, David ?

by Hardware
"!I'm still waiting for a refund of my early August overcharge, and that's despite filling in the online form, mailing Mike once and Ross FOUR TIMES!
All I ever get back is "we've passed it to the accounting department" - what am I supposed to do???
By the way, I'm in the UK so I don't really want to phone if I don't have to (or if it won't get me anywhere), talk about good money after bad!
I can't believe that AU have taken a total of $180 from my account and now it looks like I'm not going to even get the DVDs, let alone the "bonus items.
For the UK folk here, to quote Victor Meldrew, "I don't belieeeeeeve it!".
My pre-order with Amazon has gone in already, but I'm not going to cancel with AU. This way, best case I get two copies (and one set of bonus stuff) and sell one, worst case, at least I should get the actual episodes from Amazon.

I'm in a similar position to Hardware... live in the UK; doublecharged in early August; and STILL no sign of it being refunded (despite Ross' claim last Monday that he'd sort it out).
How can anyone run a company in this way?

Thursday. It was just before Jason's revelation here about BMG's situation. Me and the missus decided that the lunchbox and the bonus disc weren't important, and we decided to cancel, and go with Amazon or whoever (at this point we're not even in a rush for it, sadly). A few hours later, we were sure we'd done the right thing!
In any case, I e-mailed Ross (
ross@anotheruniverse.com) and said I wanted out. He responded soon after that, given the nature of my posts here lately, he wasn't surprised at all. He said he was on the East Coast and that he'd put it on his list of things to do in the morning. I thanked him and asked him to make it the top item on his list (I presumed then he'd be back in Calf. the next day; catching a redeye flight or something).
Friday I saw no confirmation from him, so I wrote and asked a couple of times. It was then I found out he was on the East Coast and "would get to go home on Weds" (tomorrow). He said he was asking the guys in Sacramento to take care of it.
Fri. night I wrote Ross that I'd gotten no confirmation; Sat. morning he replied that it had definately been processed. I thanked him, and thanked him again this morning when I saw the transaction on my account.
Keep bugging him folks. He knows I know Gord, and through Gord I know Jason. He also knows I wouldn't stop at contacting the BBB, the Attorneys General in all states involved, whatever consumer protection agencies shold be called, hell even 60 Minutes and Ralph Nader.
Make sure he knows not to f*ck with you, either, and you'll get processed. Squeaky wheel gets greased and all that!

your quite right, dave. i had to be somewhat peristent, but after cancelling, posting on the boards, and e-mailing a couple of times, rojek finally came through, but it felt like something done at his whim. i've kind of decided to go ahead and file complaints against au. you mention filing in more than one state, how is this possible? not terribly familiar with the process.

This is just to say I cancelled late Firday night and no refund has appeared on my online statement as of yet. That's the four days as noted above gone by, although maybe i should make allowances for the weekend etc.
