It seems like he doesn't post here any more, and when I wrote to him about not getting my refund, all I got was an automatic message that he isn't answering emails any more and it sent me to a customer service page.

I wrote back when I got the automatic reply and he wrote back that "they weren't responding to the problems i submitted, so it was pretty useless of me to continue." Then it sounds like Another Universe doesn't like him and he doesn't like them so was he fired?

No Jason wasn't fired. We are still working with him on this project, and will continue to as long as we are selling the MSCL DVD set.

He never worked for them. He only brought the opportunity to AU to sell these disks, and now AU is doing a piss poor job of selling these disks, and he gets upset that his project is being handled by such an incompetent company.

He's gone way out of his way to help us customers. He really didn't need to do any of what he's done. But he actually cared about the project and the people who were buying it (unlike AU). That's why he's helped.

But now I think he's realized there's nothing he can do to get AU to do their job correctly. So I beleive he's taking a little time off to relax.

You can only bang your head against the wall for so long until you realize that its not going to fall down.

(I don't mean to speak for Jason. This is only my interpretation of the events.)
But I, for one, do appreciate the banging he's done so far.

I think Jason is a bit fed up - rightfully so.

:) I know Jason appreciates everyone's support from here. He'll probably post himself and be more precise, but I'll relay some thoughts from him the last time he and I wrote each other:

* Remember that "break" he was gonna take? The one he ended up not really taking? He's trying to take it in small doses and, indeed, relax as much as possible. I get the impression that this is not easy for him to do! :) Ah, those New Yorkers. ;)

* He IS tired and fustrated, but probably not any more than, say, Ross is. Everyone on this project wants the discs to be delivered and the whole thing to be over.

* Jason has realized that his personal intervention with any one person's situation out of all the folks who ordered isn't really making a difference in most cases, and since AU's asking folks to go directly to them, Jason's responses to "Dreaming of Me" seem to now reflect that. Please remember that Jason's involvement in this project was never supposed to be customer-support related, but he's done everything possible to bring to AU's attention the issues that customers are concerned about. He did that because he wanted the project to be successful! With everything communicated to AU now, I think it's only proper for him to withdraw from the support role. After all, it's only a role he volunteered for back when AU didn't seem to be aware of the problems we consumers were facing. AU's got the ball in their court now, and it's always been up to them to deal with this stuff. Jason's just backing off at this time, as is proper. From what I know of him, I'm sure he'll stay involved anyway. :)

But he certainly hasn't been "fired". He's merely back to doing what he was paid to do (I certainly hope AU's making sure he's getting paid!). There seems to be a light at the end of this MSCL tunnel, and I presume Jason's trying to figure out where he goes from here.
