Nita, Based on my experience, I believe that the order status on DDD's website can be a little out of touch with reality. I ordered a set from them back in November, and the status didn't change from 'Back Order' to 'Shipped' until well after I actually got the discs, although my case may be the exc...
Haven't seen the set in the downtown Toronto HMV store but I did spot a couple of copies in HMV Square One right before Christmas. I'm assuming they've been snatched up by now... The HMV near Yonge and Dundas had the set back in November for $89.99, but they seemed to sell out fairly quickly, and I...
Re: ups i just got a thing from UPS, a charge or something...does this mean that im getting the dvds and they are at customs or something? They should bring them right to your door, and collect the COD charge for taxes when they deliver the package. If there's no one home, they'll leave a yellow "delivery ...
It really will be a shame if they don't release more seasons of MTM, because the show improved consistently from one season to the next, and they had the good sense to take it off the air before it had overstayed its welcome. I was talking to a friend the other day about TV shows on DVD. Basically, ...
"This whole MTM thing" is a reference to the fact that Fox is disappointed with the sales of the Mary Tyler Moore Show Season One set. Which is a shame, because (a) it was a great series that stands up well today, 30 years later, and (b) the set was very well produced, with excellent picture quality...

Re: the NEW AU petition for proofreading By November 15th, only half the people who ordered the DVD had received them; the rest were to be (in AU's terms) part of the second wave. As time passed, there was no indication of the second wave having shipped out to customers. The other retailers besides AU (e.g. Amazon) now have stock of the D...
Visa transactionsIf you dispute a charge on your Visa account, there's a long and involved process that has to be followed before you get your money back. Your bank has to contact the merchant's bank with the appropriate documentation. The merchant's bank then talks to the merchant. If the merchant agrees that the c...
Re: I SPOKE WITH ROSS AGAIN TODAY We will talk again next week about : - Cancellations - Double-Charges - The Lunch Box - The Bonus Disk - The Certificate. I know a few answers already ( I required them to continue talking to him ) but I promised not to say anything yet. BTW, my disks are not shipped yet, so I didn't get any prefer...
it isn't a shipping cost. it's the VAT and customs duty. shipping was free (included in the $99.99) i'm looking at the UPS invoice, as i've just had to hand over £28.37 !! taxes £15.56 duties £2.81 brokerage charge £10.00 I wonder why UPS charged brokerage fees in some countries and not in others? ...
As MartinPierre mentioned in another thread, AU sent the international orders UPS expedited. This means that we didn't have to pay the brokerage fees that I was expecting when I heard that they were using UPS. I had to pay $23.68 Cdn to get my discs from UPS, and all of that was tax that goes to the...
A lot of mail-order merchants include a disclaimer somewhere to the effect that international customers will be responsible for all applicable duties and taxes once the package arrives at its destination. I don't recall seeing anything like that from AU, but I doubt there's much you can do about it....
