Re: Question about Shane and Jordan in Self-Esteem

I can't convince you, because I agree with you. In my opinion, it is a pity that Angela was not in the classroom to listen what was said, because for me it is her the one who has problems to see Jordan as a real boy/man, and not an idealization of the perfect one. If she is able to understand that ...

Re: 30 Seconds to Mars (Jared Leto's band)

So 30 Seconds to Mars will be playing here in two months, and I can't decide if I should go. If anyone has seen them live, please share your thoughts :)

Re: Jared Leto in "Mr. Nobody"

Here is a great summary of the love story aspect of Mr. Nobody (starring Jared Leto and Diane Kruger), which aspect is quite awesome. (Clearly, I want to make you guys see it cause it's great :)) You could say there are spoilers, but the whole movie is so confusing and what "happens" branches so muc...

Re: Question about Shane and Jordan in Self-Esteem

Wow, so much activity here today :) So to make this even more potentially off-topic: 1. I never got the "she is real" thing. I don't think he likes her cause she's real-- I think he likes her cause she's quirky and self-aware and smart and because he feels like maybe she understands him. If "real" m...

Apparently I hadn't read this thread before, but now I did and I have to say that I, too, really agree and am impressed with the following comment. Reading it just makes me happy for some reason :) We are all flawed in our own ways. Jordan is the type of guy that I feel deserves another chance, not ...

Re: Jared Leto in "Mr. Nobody"

So I actually just saw this movie. It made my brain hurt. But it also left me with this very strange taste of something that I don't quite understand but that I am deeply fascinated with, in a rather inexplicable way. It also made me cry at times, which is always a good sign ;) If anyone else has se...

Re: What are lifers listening to these days?

Go listen to her yourself. Right now! I like Speeding Cars :) This forum needs more action, so I guess I'll post random stuff, like my music taste. (I guess you guys discussed everything that there is to be discussed back in the previous decade, but hey, we newbies want to participate too :P) I was...

Re: Songs that remind you of MSCL?

There are two songs that Pandora played for me recently that remind me of MSCL in different ways. 1) Vertical Horizon - Everything You Want http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rZoD8JEFjAE&ob=av2e "He's everything you want He's everything you need He's everything inside of you That you wish you could be H...

Re: Winnie Holzman: New TV project for ABC Family ("Huge")

So I decided to watch Huge this weekend (instead of doing all the work I should be doing), and I just finished watching episode 8. At first, I didn't really enjoy watching it cause I couldn't relate to the characters. I was seeing their fatness as a big part of the theme(s) of the show. But now, I r...

Re: Winnie Holzman: New TV project for ABC Family ("Huge")

Goodness, networks are stupid. I get a feeling I'm going to start watching only stuff that was canceled in its first season ;) I checked out the other recent cancelations in the link you posted, Sasha, and there are two shows that were canceled after TWO episodes. I wasn't particularly interested in...

How come this song hasn't made it here yet, I thought this was a 90s-loving forum :) Pearl Jam - Black "Ooh and all I taught her was everything Ooh I know she gave me all that she wore ... And now my bitter hands cradle broken glass Of what was everything ... I know someday you'll have a beautiful l...

Re: what other characters would you have wanted to narrate?

Regarding your last point about adolescence/adulthood, I totally agree (well, I agree with your other points too :)). In fact, I don't even think of MSCL as a teen show. A lot of quite serious and important problems are brought up that are more than relevant for adults too. And it always bothers me ...

Re: Your Jordan Catalano

I should share my experience with my Jordan(s), but in the meantime, I thought I'd share this link in which someone describes her bitter experience with the Jordan type. I found it funny that she blames MSCL/Jordan for her miserable love life, since for me, I was into the Jordan type way before seei...

Re: Jordan as a "Blind Soldier" / Jordan's Appeal

That's a great point you bring up, about the "taker" of the "saving" not wanting your help sometimes, or perhaps quite often. In fact, they could start hating you quite bitterly, because you make them feel guilty in some way, and because they realize their imperfections but have gotten used to ignor...
