MSCL named as factor for Full House's decline

In Lifetime's "Beyond the Headlines: Full House ", the producers name MSCL (with a few show stills), along with 90210 , Seinfeld & Melrose as a shift in audience sensibilities and the cause of the show's decline. (I grew up watching Full House , but I don't at all remember it overlapping with when I...

Devon Gummersall on Mad Men

Following Bess Armstrong's awesome appearance on Mad Men , Devon Gummersall was on Sunday's season 7 back half premier. His character went on a blind date with the legendary Peggy Olson; it started out awkward, got pretty friendly, then fizzled out in typical Peggy fashion. I doubt he'll return, but...

Re: Toad the Wet Sprocket

So, Toad the Wet Sprocket opened for Counting Crows last night (head nod to my ol' pal Nothingman if you're still around at all) and I have a vague 90's familiarity with Toad's music -- their radio songs and the few songs I know from soundtracks (pretty sure they're on Empire Records, etc.) so each ...

Re: Discussion for Episode 2: Dancing in the Dark

This line always stands out to me -- I don't get why the writers included this. It does give a good rhythm to Angela's line, but in all my life I have never heard any real person talk about a wedding in this way. Okay, so last night was the first time I've attended a wedding that touted itself as "...

Re: Friday Night Lights

Yeah, that show can act its pants off. (I don't really know what that means, but... yeah, it's well acted) I can totally picture a drunk Matt saying "you're daughter " Fan fiction... (if the mods were still actively around ( I MISS YOU CG!!! I hope all is well!! ) they might chastise for getting off...

Re: Friday Night Lights

've grown to really like Riggins (partly because I have a thing for sad long-haired boys who need to be saved). There was a scene I just watched when Coach Taylor actually went up to him to tell him how honorable his behavior is. I like how Tim is never afraid to take the hit for someone else. And ...

Re: Friday Night Lights

Hm... Interesting question. I'd like to think Jordan would do something similar (and it is a great FNL scene), but honestly, I don't think he'd be in the position. 1. Angela's not Lyla, so no matter what people say about her, her social standing fall would not be as great nor attract such cruelty. 2...

Re: Friday Night Lights

Oh, I'm excited for you to be watching FNL for the first time! (It gets a little crazy here and there for a little while, but push through, it always comes back.) FNL doesn't make my list of top favorite shows, but I do love it, and I will say that the actors on that show collectively act circles ar...

MSCL suggested by The Wire as Sasha Obama's Preference

In a recent post about the media's continuing focus on Sasha Obama's perceived sass and boredom, The Wire suggests that Sasha might more prefer to be back at the hotel watching My So-Called Life than participating in the activities of their trip to China. Here she is watching a folk dance, according...

Re: Jared Leto in The Dallas Buyer's Club (2013)

Jared won Best Supporting Actor at the Film Independent Spirit Awards today. Well deserved. I was posted backstage with an umbrella open to escort winners from the event tent to the still press room in anticipation of the storm that was looming and he walked by, smiled, joked, "It's not raining!" Th...

Clear MSCL Jason Katims connection. (Or is everyone in LA just reading the same short story anthology?)

I know not a lot of the old regulars come by a lot anymore, and the activity here's not what it once was, but this has been an incredibly active site for so so many years, and I do love it and the people and the administrators here. I love MSCL, I also love this site. It was a wonderful introduction...

Looking forward to the new eps, but still don't understand the world's love for Cook, and why of all the kids he rates a revisit. And why no gen 3 kids? So happy for more Cassie! (And loving seeing her and Chris on Game of Thrones!)

Brunkster, that story's hilarious! Okay, it's that time, planning summer trips... I'm hitting the south again, Little Rock, Jackson, Nashville, New Orleans are all definites, there may be stops in between. I know there can't be another Saxapahaw (or maybe there can...!) but any tips on sights, cool...
