I'm going to look into Haibane Renmei, because I like the sound of it. Truthfully, Niea_7 didn't thrill me the way Lain did, but I love Abe's style. Thanks for the info! :) NieA_7 is a very different show than Lain, and I think that turned off a lot of people expecting a Lain clone. If you look at ...

Anne of Green Gables (3 DVD's with all episodes)
First DVD of Rurouni Kenshin (Anime)
And the first DVD of MSCL, ofcourse.
Which version of Anne of Green Gables is it? Is it the mini-series with Megan Follows? I picked up that one, but it was only one DVD.

Life with Bonnie is pretty good. I'm a huge fan of Bonnie Hunt (and apparently, so is David Letterman, since his company seems to always be involved in producing her shows. I'm not sure how succesful it's been, but if her previous sitcoms are any indication ( The Building, The Bonnie Hunt Show ), i...

If my memory isn't totally shot...the movie with Jared Leto was released first and for some reason, shortly thereafter Tom Cruise decided that movie didn't do the story justice so he "re-made" it. I like the movie. Not a real 5-star flick but I dig true stories. I also like the soundtrack. Forever ...

Back to the Future

Sorry, slightly OT, but I was hoping someone could enlighten me as to the problem with the widescreen edition of Back to the Future. Thanks.

Don't know where you are, but here in Markham, a suburb of Toronto (CANADA), I found a copy of Prefontaine at Musicworld on DVD for $5.99 (or just under $4 U.S.) last week. Haven't seen it yet, don't know if it's any good... but $6. Price is right.

I ordered from amazon .com and received the set 3 business days after ordering. Of course, I payed a bit more than $89.99 ($67.49 plus $5 shipping, or about $115 Cdn), and if I'd known anyone in Canada was carrying it so cheaply, I would have picked in up there (I found another Canadian site chargin...

T-shirts

Looking for "Save My So-Called Life" T-shirts. Does anyone else remember these? I picked one up a few years ago through Entertainment Weekly right after the show was cancelled. Mine is getting a little worn, and I was wondering if anyone knew where to get them. It was a dark blue/purple with the "My...

There's a definite significance to eight in chinese culture. Chinese are big on puns, which is kind of funny since a lot of words are actually the same sound, but different tones. For any given sound, seven potential different tones can be used, each of these different potential pronunciations being...

Another thing about the end of the dance - after Brian went through all this inner turmoil to go to the dance with Angela, why didn't he dance with her? When he suggested they might dance (which I thought meant that he did want to dance with her), Angela explodes, "We're not gonna dance!" and he ba...

Do these disc actually have Macrovision on them? I thought MV was the reason why you can't record some discs - the picture goes real bad when you try to tape them. I tried to record during the museum visit & it worked! Funny, I noticed the same thing, too. I've got an old TV that only allows a cabl...

Definitely the end of the last episode. The way Brian's voice reading the letter through the different scenes: very poignant and moving and simple. Also the very end, when Angela drives away in Jordan's car, having just realized that Brian wrote the letter. When the car drives away, leaving Brian on...
