Re: Jared Leto in Black and White

I've seen this movie, but I don't really remember Jared Leto in it...Oh, wait- I think he played a teacher? Anyway, it was a pretty good movie and it does have an "all-star" cast- even Mike Tyson is in it!

Re: Favorite Movies???

Thanks for replying. I forgot about Say Anything and The Usual Suspects- those would be on my list too. And Reality Bites! How could I have forgotten about that? When I was in college, my roommates and I would rent it every weekend and we had the whole thing memorized.

Re: Jared Leto in American Psycho

Yes, yes, yes! I thought that this was a great movie. Very gory, but good. And Jared Leto does an amazing job- it's very funny to see him play this character, especially if you're used to seeing him as Jordan. Another good movie that he is in is Fight Club. He has a fairly small role in that but it ...

Favorite Movies???

I really enjoyed reading about the TV shows and music that you all like, so now I'm interested to know what everyone's favorite movies are. Personally, my all-time favorites are Willy Wonka, Joe Versus the Volcano, When Harry Met Sally (and I'm not even a Meg Ryan fan!), Ma Vie En Rose, Dream For an...

Re: Jared Leto in Girl, Interrupted

I really did not like this movie. And, I'm sorry, but Angelina Jolie should not have won an Oscar for her performance (am I the only person who thinks that she is terribly overrated?). But it does have both Clea Duvall and Brittany Murphy in it, so it wasn't a complete waste of time.

Re: What are lifer's listening to these days?

I'm kind of weird about music- besides a few rare exceptions (Bob Dylan, Paddy Casey, early REM), I can only listen to female singers. My favorites are Tori, Sarah, Fiona Apple, Lisa Loeb, Catie Curtis, Lisa Germano, Ani Difranco, Carole King, Indigo Girls, Portishead, Hole, and Etta James.

Re: What are Lifer's watching these days?

Thanks for the info on the Kaytee website, dTheater. I've been going there a lot and I've downloaded some good mp3s. Hopefully she'll have an album out sometime in the near future...

Re: Graham and Hallie

I don't want to be controversial or anything, but I honestly don't think that Patty was a horrible person. Was she a nag? Did she sometimes make bad decisions? Yes, but I truly believe that she always had the best intentions. Maybe she wasn't always the most supportive wife, but you have to admit th...

"I say, that what you say, is what I say." Don't be ashamed about liking Newsies- it's a classic. (Of course, your post is over two years old, so maybe you don't like it anymore?) Anyway, I've lived in Eugene, OR for the past year after bfief stops in Arizona, Utah, Idaho, Wyoming, Texas, Seattle an...

New Insights

Is it just me, or does anyone else find themselves identifying with different characters as time goes by? When I first started watching the show, I was right in the middle of all of my adolescent angst, so naturally I felt closest to Angela. Her life seemed to mirror mine: finding new friends and lo...

Re: Reoccuring lines

That was always my favorite line, too. In fact, a long time ago I wrote a rather ridiculous little poem about MSCL that I titled "In My Humble Opinion..." (Thank god I don't attempt to write things like that anymore- it was really bad.)

Re: What are Lifer's watching these days?

Wow. I thought I was the only person in the world who watched American High and was obsessed with Kaytee. Those cool glasses! Those witty and insightful songs! I agree that most everything on television is rubbish, but I do have to defend Buffy. I'm a recent convert- for the longest time I ridiculed...
