After a visit with my lovely doctor, I'm on Ambien once more, though at a slightly lower dose. Feh. Hope springs eternal. I remember in All That Heaven Allows, when Jane Wyman's kids give her a television it's sort of viewed as confirmation of her becoming a spinster, cast off by life. I kind of fee...

Can't sleep for anything tonight. Thank the Gods I have a late shift tomorrow afternoon. I don't know what's keeping me up. Rearranging (sp?) furniture and fixtures has helped to smooth out some of the energy in my flat, but there's something more. Haven't blogged in what feels like months. I've ide...

Remember, a vote for Nader is really a vote for Bush. After seeing Fahrenheit 9/11 night before last, I'd really like to see the lot of them run out of the country. Our citizenship can be taken away under the so-called Homeland Security Act if we are considered terrorists. Um, last time I checked, t...

Having only recently begun watching television again, I can't claim as many programmes as the rest of you. Perhaps this is a good thing? Science PBS dominates here. I loved Blue Planet on Discovery a few years ago. Simply amazing. Home Improvement HGTV rules in this area for me. I really like that b...

I can relate all too well, having spent the greater part of my life in the oven called Texas. I'd love to live somewhere with four distinct seasons. Washington, perhaps? It's just so hot here all the time and the humidity never seems to let up. Heh. I forgot you lived in Vegas.

Re: [/alone]

'Been there, definately felt that. Your feeling is not unique. One can definately have full social life and yet feel quite alone. Hugs are definately in order. As a side note to your post, I empthasize with your situation. Being new in town and having to make new friends has turned out to be a leng...

Ha! I know what you mean. Thing is, none of these started off as high maintenance. In at least one case, I don't mind. Gods, I never should have read that Chernobyl site. I need to get out in the sun...be around people. Hello, Starbucks!

There's the doctor who obsesses over how into him I am in his perception. "You're interested, right?" It's, like, no matter how many times I assure him he still frets. Flyboy surfaces after a few months accusing me of having pushed him away, making little time for him. Um...excuse me, but it's calle...

Once and Again suffered from this too--not the best for American tv tryign to get new viewers... E Once & Again was very easy to relate to on many levels. I was still a toddler when my parents divorced, but I could relate to growing up in a single parent environment. As a so-called grown up, I foun...

Over The Rainbow

Some of my friends are in California at the Dragonboat tournament. I was supposed to be there with them in San Francisco. Instead, I'm sitting here listening to Jane Monheit's "Over The Rainbow" which I heard last night over the end titles of Sky Captain & The World Of Tomorrow. Monheit's delicately...

Autumn

Autumn is upon us and I thought it'd be great if we could talk about this most transformative of seasons. I suppose I've been in love with Autumn ever since childhood and my first few Halloween's. There was always something so magical about watching the leaves turn and fall from the trees, and nothi...
