I saw it when I was in college - just keep in mind that European movies are TOTALLY different from American movies. :D You know, the European cinema isn't all about Brechtian distantiation ;) (as the U.S. cinema isn't all about Hollywood aesthetics) Back to the topic: I, too, haven't seen the film....

Ahem, I'm sure you meant "as often as a person thinks about sex."

After all, as we know, "Boys don't have the monopoly on thinking about it!"

Re: Jay Leno

For anyone who is interested, Claire Danes is scheduled to appear on The Tonight Show on September 12 to promote Igby Goes Down. Hey, thanks for the info! :) Does anyone know if (and when) the Sept 12 show will be aired on CNBC Europe? Hmm, 12 seems to be Thursday -- and the channel tends to show e...

name this IGD song

This is going to be way OT... but anyway, here we go: I recently wandered to the homepage of Claire's new movie (at http://www.mgm.com/ua/igbygoesdown). The site design is pretty impressive with some nice music used. So, being a bit of a sucker for songs with a ubiquitous 4-chord chorus ;), I was le...

Catalano might have the potential to evolve into the next level of sophistication, however his qualities are no substitute for substance. Not only does Krakow demonstrate his intellectual superiority but his [Jordan's, I assume] ability to foresee and analyse certain events/human conditions is equa...

Yeah, it would've been nice to see them in some episode.

Did the show give any clues about Graham's parents? It's been a while since the last viewing of the episodes...

Re: Welcome to our new forum!

We added also a few forums to make it easier to find the informations you're looking for. There's now also an off-topic forum for talk about things not related to "My So-Called Life". Very smart move, thanks! Some of you may miss the "threaded view" feature of our old forum. But I must say I ...

Re: What else changed our lives?

(First of all I'm not answering on behalf of dTheater. Yeah, kinda obvious =) I've seen Magnolia only once and that one time was almost a year ago so my recollection of the movie might not be perfect. But what I remember and really.. hmm... appreciate about Magnolia are listed below: * chance to see...

Re: Quiz (Which MSCL character are you?)

Here's another Brian! Did anyone else find the last question on sex a little bit too restricting -- does it imply that a person can "be" a character of the show of his/her own sex only? Well, I changed the answer of the last question (leaving the others as they were) and submitted the answers again....

Hi!

The section encyclopedia/person_register states that Shane was played by Shannon Leto -- Jared's older brother. imdb.com has info on his works. Also pages about Jared's biography might be worth checking out.

MSCL satire

I was browsing through what I believe was the latest issue of Mad magazine and came across a satire of Boston Public. So it got me wondering if there ever was a satire of My So-Called Life in this magazine? Or in any other worth mentioning?

Re: Jared Leto in American Psycho

Wow, now this is interesting! There's this costume drama called Basil. In this one Jared's character (Basil) gets beat up. Talking about doing the same kind of roles one after another... ;) Yes, Requiem for a Dream is magnificent. But also disturbing. Seeing it left me as powerfully affected as only...

Re: Jared Leto in American Psycho -- WARNING: possible FC sp

I've seen Fight Club a couple of years ago and really liked it (Meat Loaf did a wonderful job!) But also I can't remember what kind of role Jared Leto had in this movie. Was he one of the Durden's "followers"? In what scenes did he appear?

YLE: no rerun in near future

Last week I send email to YLE (Finnish Broadcasting Company) and asked if they were going to air the show again. Both stations tv1 and tv2 replied to my post, both had the same message: no rerun planned. In addition tv1 mentioned in its home page that it would take years before the next airing... I ...
