I actually completely disagree, although when I was watching the show when I was 12 I would've agreed. For me, watching it now as a 22-year-old, all the scenes with the parents are completely essential and add SO MUCH to the show. It would lose so much without the involvement of Patty, Graham, etc. ...

So I was watching Related tonight, and guess who guest starred! That's right...Wilson Cruz! He played the boyfriend of Joe's (Tom Irwin) new wife's son. I nearly died when Tom and Wilson shook hands on the show! Awwww. That made my night.

To me the funniest moment is at the end of Father Figures where Graham is telling Brian to help him with the gutter and Brian ignores him, and Graham mutters, "Gee, sir, I'd like to help you, but I'm too busy picturing your daughter [i]naked[/i]." That quote cracks me up every time.

Although I agree that Patty wasn't always so uptight, I think that was more like when she was in high school and college...she always speaks of her the wild things she did back then, and about her carefree spirit.
