Re: How did Angela meet Rayanne?

I like the idea of them meeting in the bathroom, Rayanne simply stating, "You know, you'd be a total hottie if it weren't for your hair. You should be a redhead." And that would start the friendship which would start the show. I like that we don't begin their relationship right at the beginning, and...

Re: Sharon's room

I also thought it was odd Sharon had two beds, but I think it was just a way of letting the viewers know how close she and Angela were. They'd been friends and Sharon's room was "their world," almost like Angela's second bedroom where she even pretty much had her own bed. Kind of sweet.

Re: Should Angela have Jordan or Brian?

Angela and Brian's romantic relationship would involve lots of awkward cuteness, passionate arguments, and long, intense conversations about everything and nothing all at once. Team Brian all the way. :D Very much so! I think they would have developed their relationship in a nice way. Going to see ...

Re: Graham and Hallie

Oh, no! Let me see if it's saved. I don't know what happened. :?: She doesn't really remind me of Rayanne. Perhaps, because they are both loud and assertive. I wonder how old Hallie was supposed to be in relation to Patti and Graham. She seemed to me to be about ten or so years younger. I wonder if ...

Re: Shallow Query

I think Angela was very pretty, but in a subtle, unassuming way. I remember being quite taken aback when I first saw "The Zit" and heard Angela call herself ugly. Whaaa? :? A close second would be Amber. I think the actress who played her is quite pretty. She has lovely eyes. I think she was prettie...

Re: Jody Barsh

This is one of the things I love about the show (and other shows and films that do this sort of thing). It's a minor detail and it's not necessary to move the plot along, and we don't know the whole story! :) Sure, we could find out later, but I love when things are referred to and yet full expositi...

Re: Graham and Hallie

Just curious--do you have a personal like or dislike for Hallie's character (ignoring her threat to Graham's marriage) and for what reasons? Yes, I dislike her! But it's mostly because of her being the willing Temptress. I don't know if I can separate my dislike for her from that reason. I fe...

Re: Is MSCL the greatest television series of all time?

I think MSCL is certainly one of the best and most enduring TV dramas . (I judge sitcoms differently.) I absolutely love it and I know I always will. I have three favorite TV dramas: MSCL, Freaks and Geeks (another show which also ended prematurely after one season :( ) and Veronica Mars . I don't k...

Re: What did Brian tell Sharon abt the experiment night?

This is an interesting question. In my head, I make sense of the situation by imagining Brian complaining to Sharon, is was all too willing to hear criticisms about Angela. He must have said something about how she lied about why she was coming over and how she made a big to-do about going outside t...

Re: Graham and Hallie

Or maybe she was just trying to force herself to need him at that moment because she thought she should need him?? This is my interpretation of that scene. And also, she may have just wanted to do something spontaneous and sexy because it was such a contradiction of her usual behavior. I think, if ...

Re: Graham and Hallie

I will definitely check out the fanfiction around here. I love that this old show still inspires people. :) I'm not sure what an affair would mean for Patti. It would certainly crush her. I imagine her making Graham move out for awhile. But you're right, we certainly don't know much about Pa...

Re: Discussion for Episode 1: the Pilot

I love how in just one episode we know that Brian loves Angela, Rayanne's wild spirit will lead her towards trouble, Rickie is a sweet and helpful pal, Sharon is a developing teenage girl who needs stability in her friends, Jordan is a mysterious good looking boy who begs to be explored, Patty and ...

Re: Should Angela have Jordan or Brian?

Exactly. That's one of the great things about the show. It's not cut-and-dry, simple black and white, Brian is the perfect underdog and Jordan is the undeserving, handsome bad boy. You can relate to both characters and see that they both have merits, qualities that would be attractive to Angela. You...

Thanks, Cami! I enjoyed reading many posts on this forum. Though a lot of them are old (it's like a ghost town!), just like the show, they still are entertaining and thought provoking. I'm venturing into the threads one by one and trying to read to catch up and post. :D I was only about 8 years old ...

Re: Discussion for Episode 1: the Pilot

-On the crying cheerleader: I liked her presence there. It seemed to me to be one of the ways the general high school experience would make "a really upsetting book." Girls cry. Perhaps someone broke her heart, or a friend betrayed her, or she was kicked off a team, or she missed her period, or fail...
