Re: Rolling Stone Uses MSCL as a Measure for Angst Tolerance

I watched 15 min of the British Skins and could barely stand it, let alone understand why people compare it to MSCL. But I guess this isn't the first show that takes more than 15 min to get into :) Also it kind of confuses me when people associate MSCL with angst... I mean yes, that's present, but f...

Last Names

So I was thinking about the last names of Angela's friends and I have found some patterns but I'm not sure if these are significant. 1. Angela's older ("more boring?") friends (Sharon and Brian) both have Slavic last names (Polish? Czech?) -- what does this mean? 2. Both of her "cool" new *male* fri...

Re: Discussion for Episode 15: So-Called Angels

I always took it to be some nook in the loft, not his actual room in his family's house. I also initially thought it wasn't an actual room, but then the boyfriend got me doubting myself. You're probably right though... Yet he does seem rather comfortable there, as if it's his own personal space. I ...

Re: Rickie's living situation--would it be permanent?

I get the feeling that this lady that was flirting with Katimski did actually figure out he was gay, and I think this might have been discussed somewhere on here, but I forget. I think Rickie would have stayed with Katimski. Or maybe a decent relative would have appeared out of the blue and hosted h...

Re: I understand "Pressure"

Well, I didn't really think he was a jerk until he called her "abnormal", which was rather horrible. I guess I have a different attitude towards a guy wanting to have sex with a particular girl (who is not the slutty type). It can be flattering in a way, and it can be an expression of affection. At ...

Re: I understand "Pressure"

I think the reason why most people to whom Angela talks don't give her the advice she needs or don't pick up on her nervousness is because SHE is the one who needs to make this decision, and the writers wanted to create a situation where she is forced to make that decision on her own. Because there ...

Acting (Classes)

Hey guys and girls, Not sure where I got this idea (or do I...), but I decided that maybe I want to take an acting class. I'm pretty shy, so I've always thought that of all the arts, this is probably the one I could do least well, but now I'm starting to think that I might actually be able to overco...

Re: Undeclared

Based on what I read on Wikipedia about this Jax person, I can sort of see why Charlie Hunnam might be appropriate, but only sort of. I'd need to watch the show. Would you recommend it?

Sorry I never responded to this, even though I brought it up... but you said things so well and I agree with them, so I didn't know what else to say :)

Re: Undeclared

I haven't gotten to the point of quoting it, but I might get there ;) Yes, I agree that it's not like Freaks and Geeks... Except that Lloyd totally reminds me of Daniel! On a different note, I'm a goth/metalhead and if you told me a few years ago that I'd be watching something by the makers of "Knoc...

Re: Undeclared

I'm half-way through watching Undeclared, and in the episode "God Visits", Lloyd somehow reminded me of Sebastian Flyte, one of the main characters from Brideshead Revisited (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Brideshead_Revisited_%28TV_serial%29). If you remember, in this episode Lloyd's views on life an...

Jeff Buckley Movie

So apparently Jared Leto, James Franco, Robert Pattinson (not a fan!) and James Marsden (don't even know who he is) all want to be Jeff Buckley in a new movie about the latter. As much as I love Jared, I think Franco might be a better choice. I think Johnny Depp could also work? Any thoughts about w...

Re: 30 Seconds to Mars (Jared Leto's band)

I would like to report that I went to the above-mentioned concert, and I saw our lovely Jordan Catalano in person... except from slightly afar. And this is the tragedy of my life right now. Imagine the following: After 90 min of being pretty close to the stage, I wait around inside the concert hall ...

Re: Songs that remind you of MSCL?

My Jared obsession strikes again, so here's another song that reminds me of MSCL in its strange way... it possibly has to do with the lyrics: "I've been thinking of everything I used to want to be, I've been thinking of everything, of me, of you and me. This is the story of my life..." http://www.yo...

Re: The Official "Freaks and Geeks" on DVD Thread

So, out of nostalgia for MSCL, I decided I should watch Freaks and Geeks, and my mission has just been completed. I liked the show, but I don't think I'll miss it as much as I miss MSCL. I thought the characters in MSCL had a lot more depth, among other things. I don't know if anyone would be up for...
