Re: ending

We've had a lot of conversations on this topic here at this site --- You might want to check out some of the other postings. I tend to side with those that feel the show was better off ending where it did --- It leaves you with a question, one that says more about life then perhaps any of the possib...

Re: new shows and "roswell"

Hey, I saw my first episode of "Roswell", and I agree --- It's pretty cool.
I like the ending especially --- very philosophical (kind-of-like MSCL used
to do) --- I liked it!

Winnie Holzman

MSCL creator Winnie Holzman has written the last two episodes of "Once and Again." The shows were really good --- with Holzman's familiar blend of both warmth and intensity. With W.G. Snuffy doing the music, this show has a decided MSCL-feel to it. If you like quality adult drama, check it out!

Re: Wasteland

I didn't see the show, but I was just curious... Why "Wasteland" ? What are they trying to say with this title? I was just thinking that some of the titles of recent shows seem sadly uncreative. "Freaks and geeks" has got to be the most inane name for a show I've heard in years. And "Wasteland" make...

Re: new shows and "roswell"

Thanks for the tip on "Roswell". In case you didn't see my other postings,
I think "once and Again" is an outstanding new show (from MSCL producers
Zwick and Herskovic).

Re: "Get Real"

Thanks for your comments, and I'm glad you weren't offended. I kind of deliberately criticized the show in an extreme way just to see what sort of a reaction I'd get... stimulate some discussion. Actually, I only saw the first episode of "Get Real", so my comments may have been a little unfair. But ...

Re: Freaks and Geeks

I agree with you. The first show was decent, but the second
show was bad... even downright stupid. The show is trying
to be funny, I think... but it doesn't really work. It would be
much better if it were just a straight drama.

Re: "Get Real"

Sorry, but you have totally missed the mark. "Get Real" is terrible. No... it's worse than terrible... It's ridiculous trash. Sorry ---- I don't have anything against you personally. In fact, I think your web site here is amazing. It's one of the few web sites I don't have to wait five minutes to ge...

Re: Chat Room Fixed / MSCL revived

Hi, Sorry that the response was underwhelming. I can only say that I tend to think that the fact that anybody goes to this web page at all is amazing. I mean, I'm as big a fan as anybody of MSCL. But the show has been gone for awhile. Frankly, there's little evidence of the claim that you see when y...

Correction...

I was wrong about the "F & G" web page... It turns out they just
had some freaky web glitches that resulted in my getting booted
from their board. They have assured me that they will not remove
any message for content, or exclude anyone from the site.

New example of web-board censoring

Hi: You know, I posted a comment at the site for the new show "Freaks and Geeks". My comment was partly critical --- and I suspect that's why I now can't read my earlier post (It's title is there but it doesn't come up!). Also, I tried to post a new comment and a message comes up telling me that I h...

Freaks and Geeks

OK... I promised a review of the new NBC show "Freaks and Geeks". The show follows the lives of two high school students (a brother and sister in their first and second year of high school, respectively ---- set in the year 1980, approx.). One thing good about this show right away is that tha actors...

Re: Once and Again

Angelika: I think you'll really like this show. Stylistically, it reminds me a lot of MSCL. Of course the content is totally different, but it's really well done. I think it's great to see that the producers are retaining certain methods they used with MSCL --- They're not afraid to use aspects of t...

Re: literary content, etc.

Yes, the "Betrayal" episode, featuring the play "Our Town" is actually my favorite episode. It's kind of a dark episode, but I guess I like that sort of thing --- very powerful. Speaking of the literary content of the show, I also think it's funny how the first several episodes all feature different...
