typically when you spoof an email address (and you cannot send thousands of emails from yahoo, so it was spoofed by their mass mail program), you do it so that people cannot respond to the email. I've looked over the headers of my saved copy of the "My So-Called Life Update" email from Colleen McNi...

the priority in Sharon's question is more that she is at fault than exactly how that is true. Saying "it isn't any one thing" (with an elipsis of "... that you did") implies that Sharon is indeed responsible, by more than one doing of something, which is contrary to the priority of the two aspects ...

graham/angela I love the scene where she's in the towel and he can't deal with it. I agree, it was a good scene, and I like your analysis. My favorite part is when she says "the truth is, my breasts have come between us", partly because she really doesn't have any and partly because it's clear she ...

Like putting your teddy bear aside.

I don't think Angela is trying to change her relationship with Sharon at all, it's more a question of she has nothing more to learn from her, the change is simply a side effect. There is a time in your mid-teen life when you've outgrown everyone you know and just have to move on. "I'd love to have y...

Other pilot episode thoughts.

Let me first point out that I didn't start watching MSCL until the middle of the 94-95 season, and I don't have cable, so no MTV reruns. That is, I never got to see the first half of the series until the DVDs came. In other words, I haven't memorized every nuance of the show yet. But I can now (fina...

Vague recollection.

Seems I recall an article in TVGuide while the show was being cancelled that said many of the participants were campaigning to keep it alive, and Claire Danes was one of them. This would make the idea that she wanted to leave the show less probable. Perhaps there is a TVGuide collector out there who...

Is "one per week" really a requirement?

Given that episodes will be discussed by forum thread and a new thread will be created for each episode, why not create all 19 threads right now? Some will jump the gun, some will fall behind, but those for whom the "one per week" schedule makes a difference will still be there on time, and any earl...

If it had to end...

I think the begin and end points were just about perfect. It's like a 15-hour movie, where each important story arc begins in transition and ends resolved. (Some of the less important ones do not; Life is hard. ) Examples... Then: Angela and her childhood friend Sharon have grown apart. Angel...
