Audio sync/echo?

I have noted a few comments about out of sync audio or echo-y audio on the DVDs. I would like to make a suggestion for anyone who is experiencing such issues. The DVDs are defaulting to the remixed 5.1 audio tracks (though I use the term "remixed" loosely). If you hear some audio problems, go back t...

Comparing the video...

So I get back from being out of town and what do I find in my mail pile... I have been eager to pop the My So-Called Life DVDs in and see what's been stirring up all the issues over picture quality. I have not had a chance to watch all the episodes in their entirety, but I have had an opportunity to...

But the other 18 eps look almost as bad. What is with the 5 line 'Music Staff" running throughout the picture? You can really see it on dark scenes. It's like I'm watching a DVD through bad digital cable. PLEASE explain that to me! This sounds an awful lot like a Macrovision artifact. This copy pro...

Max Headroom

I really liked Max. Are those actually out on DVD?
I wish! Let's get Jason over to Warner Bros. and get those ABC episodes out already!

There was a time when TV shows were finished on film, up to say the late 80s, and if you ever wanted to remaster, you could go back and use the latest transfer technology to get the best picture from an edited piece of film (see Artisan's BEAUTIFUL transfers of "Twin Peaks" to see how this can work ...

but I can't understand how anyone who loves the show could bear to watch the set knowing they had lined RR's pockets. For me it would be tainted and spoil something i've looked forward to for years.
Perhaps I'm just cynical, but I'm more amazed these days when a company does something right.

I have to apologize if anyone thought I was comparing our situation to Columbine. I wasn't seriously considering Michael Moore would be willing to help in the Another Universe situation, I just mentioned him because of his way of bringing attention to issues. Yes, he does tend to take on more politi...

Now here's an idea...

I saw the Michael Moore flick "Bowling For Columbine" today, and I was thinking... maybe we should sic Moore on Another Universe! In the film, Moore takes a couple of the kids who were victims of the shootings at Columbine to KMart headquarters. With some extra media attention, the trio successfully...

I did have something handed in to Chris back on that Sunday. I wanted to have some time on Monday to double check some stuff and be ready that Tuesday at the latest with a "final" version. When the site got hacked, I ended up more extra time anyway. The text that was found here that week was exactly...

Apologies to Lance...

I wanted to apologize to Lance because the updated version of the "My So-Called DVDs" story will not end with his quote. When I revised the article, I realized that I hadn't been quoting from the users here about all the problems, so it seemed out of place to quote a Forum user for no reason other t...

1) People do not think they will get their money back due to AU's track record of not refunding illegal double and triple charges and their refusal to cancel orders. Au has basically created an enivornment where people *fear* they cannot get their money back even if they want to. 2) People really w...

Also, from the emails that I received in response to that interview, a great number of them coming from other reporters, many seem to oppose the very idea of exclusives. They feel that an exclusive is like a license to provide bad service. They have been proven right about that and I have been prov...

i guess writing a fair and balanced article about a controversial topic is kind of like having a fair and balanced judge in a trial... in the end neither side is really happy with the judgement. Thank you very much. And all the feedback people have offered, whether positive or negative is greatly a...
