Songs that remind you of MSCL?

Post by Stick » Jan 8th 2009, 6:54 pm

(Note: I wasn't sure if this should go in the music section or what)

Please Do Not Go- The Violent Femmes: This song makes me think of Brian and his obession with Angela.
Tell ya man
I'm stuck on this lovely girl
Of course to me know she mean all the world
But then
She like another guy
I fall down dead
She never see the tears i cry

So please please please
Do not go
Please please please
Do not go
Please please please
Do not go
How long can the days go on
When my love is so strong
And i know i cannot tell a lie
I want to se him go bye
Goodbye bye goodbye bye bye bye bye bye bye
Now I wonder, I wonder what she would say
If i told her, If i told her i felt this way
You know it might make her turn
Might make her turn, might make her turn
Either way
So all I can do is patiently pray pray
pray pray pray
Tell me that doesn't sound like him.

Cami, I'll love you forever for that Deniece Williams vid. :D 8)

I know a lot of songs that remind me of various situations in MSCL. If I was capable of making those music vids, I'd probably make dozens.

One that I really like is "Sparks" by Coldplay. It could be interpreted as either Brian or Jordan's feelings for Angela. I love the way it sounds, that melancholic mood that I think would have gone well in a real episode.

Sparks is a very nice song. Could totally be a Angela/Brian song. Hey, speaking of Brian...are you open to a little Krakow Graff action? I kinda think they'd be cute together...and u know what song reminds me of them, if they were a couple? Although I suppose this could work for Brian and Angela too...

"Self-Esteem" The Offspring

I just re-watched the Denise Williams Angela/Jordan video I made, that you commented on, and geez is that an early one, before I got good at video making. My personal favorite video is a Brian/Angela video to 10cc's The Things We Do For Love - Cuz I animated parts of it. Did you check that one out. It's one of the links above!

Also have u ever considered that as a pair - Rayanne & Krakow could be like a reverse Grease? Krakow's a male Sandy, and Raynie's a female Danny! Haha. I made a vid a while back to Grease's "Better Shape Up," starring Graff and Brian!

Smashing Pumpkins' "1979" always reminds me not only of the show, but of the classic pilot shot on the street for some reason, and I have no idea why.

Well, Angela did mention in Father Figures that she liked the Smashing Pumpkins so that sounds about right! Although 1979 wasn't released until after the show was canceled, I can definitely see Angela playing that song obsessively.

I Forgot the title of this Madonna song but it has the lines "...and I'm not sorry...it's human nature... " and "express yourself don't repress yourself"--anyway Rickie always reminds me of that song. It would have been a good song for him to dance to at the World Happiness Dance, when he felt like he didn't fit.

Should I Stay or Should I Go? by the Clash reminds me of Angela's so-called relationship with Jordan.

So Coldplay seems to have a song for pretty much every situation, but I was totally feelin' some Jordan to Angela vibes from: "What If""

Human Nature - I used to love that song!

About "Human Nature": Michael Jackson's song also called "Human Nature" is AWESOME! One of my favorite MJ songs! Okay, so it doesn't remind me of MSCL, but Michael Jackson still rocks!

Haha, excellent spot!

Coldplay does have some good songs for Angela/Jordan or Angela/Brian. Cami, I like "What If" and I see it as being in Jordan's POV--his doubts in the verses, and then kinda giving himself a pep-talk in the chorus, and going for his girl. :D Designated Krakow song: "The Scientist":
Questions of science
Science and progress
Did not speak as loud as my heart
It has a very sweet, poignant feeling that perfectly fits his character and his love for Angela. Another good (but slightly darker) one for him is "Shiver".

Rickie's song: "Name" by Goo Goo Dolls.

Angela's journey to find out the truth, and who she is: "Rebellion (Lies)" by The Arcade Fire.

Graham: "Brothers On A Hotel Bed" by Death Cab For Cutie. Alternatively, this one. ;)

Sharon and Angela: "In Your Room" by K's Choice.

Rayanne to Angela during the last scene of Betrayal: "Left And Leaving" by The Weakerthans. Rayanne and Rickie: "Dig" by Incubus. Rayanne and Sharon: "The Reasons" by The Weakerthans (seriously, I adore this band!). And just plain Rayanne: "Then The Morning Comes" by Smashmouth.
"You know, the karma in this house is like ridiculous. It's really low... or dark... whatever it is that happens to karma."
